"I Am An Archer"

by Siegfried Stanislaus
to the tune of "I Am A Rock"

Summer's Day, On A Grassy Field Of Battle.
I Am An Archer
A Dozen Deadly Arrows, In A Quiver On My Back,
Another Nocked And Ready For Attack.

I Have A Bow! I Am An Archer!

Fighters March, And Form Up Around A Banner,
Resplendent In Their Armor,
Two Armies Face Each Other, Two Bastions Of Might.
I Stand Apart Upon Protected Height.

I Have A Bow! I Am An Archer!

Fighters Charge, And Meet In A Clash Of Armor.
I Search For An Opening.
Within The Frenzied MeleƩ, An Uprotected Breast.
An Arrow Flies. A Fighter's Laid To Rest.

I Have A Bow! I Am An Archer!

Fighters Die, The Battle Surges Towards Me.
I Stand Here Unprotected.
I've Fired My Last Arrow. I've Slaughtered My Last Foe.
The Rest Approach To Lay This Archer Low.

I Have A Bow! I Am An Archer!
But You Can't Swing A Bow,
And A Quiver...Is Not...A Shield.
